yOutlinez
This meeting aims to discuss multicellular dynamics and its regulation by exploring the interface between biology and mechanics. The understanding of development has been greatly advanced by discoveries in geneticsC which have identified molecular factors underlying characteristic morphologies and functions. We are now trying to bridge our understanding at the genetic and molecular levels to that of integrated multicellular systems. This meeting will focus on mechanical aspects of multicellular organization to open up a more comprehensive understanding of such systems.
We will address biological and mechanical aspects of multicellular morphogenesisC including the following topics.
1) Observations of morphological dynamics in embryogenesis
2) Quantitative measurements of active and passive cell behaviors
3) In vitro reconstructions and controls of multicellular structures
4) Computational simulations of multicellular systems
The program will include both oral and poster sessions. We encourage the submission of abstracts for the poster session from scientists in various fields to increase opportunities for lively and exciting discussion. Several abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. We welcome exciting new topics from young investigators as well as established scientists. We hope you will honor us with your attendance.
