-Event- Epigenetics and transcription in the brain: towards single cell analysis Data: 12/15/2014-12/16/2014
Epigenetic and transcription processes are crucial to the formation and function of the brain. Itfs now clear that alterations of epigenetic processes within our brains trigger diverse disorders such as autismC schizophreniaC brain cancerC and Alzheimerfs disease. NeverthelessC efforts to understand these processes are complicated because the brain is the most complex organ and individual cells are very different to each other. It is of paramount importance to develop new approaches to examine epigenetic changes at the single cell level. Building upon the first successful Tokyo 2013 eventC this meeting will bring together leading UK and Japan-based researchers to explore this key new interface between neuroscienceC epigeneticsC and single cell analysis.
