-Event- Hedgehog Signalling in Development Evolution and Disease Data: 3/18/2012-3/21/2012 Location: Singapore
The meeting "Hedgehog Signalling in Development Evolution and Disease" will be held March 18-21, 2012 at Biopolis in Singapore.
Hedgehog (HH) proteins constitute one of a small number of families of secreted signals that play a central role in the development of metazoans. First discovered in Drosophila, research over the past 15 years has unveiled the key role played by HH signaling in human development and disease: aberrant HH signaling is now recognized as being associated with around 25% of all human cancers.
The meeting will reflect the many facets of HH signaling, with sessions devoted to the mechanisms of signal transduction, the developmental roles of HH, the evolutionary origins of the pathway, its involvement in human diseases and its importance as a therapeutic target, providing a well rounded and comprehensive survey of the field.
Deadline for abstract submission and early bird registration is December 31, 2011. Deadline for normal registration is January 31, 2011.
The CDB Symposium 2012 entitled. "Quantitative Developmental Biology" will be held March 26-28, 2012 in Kobe, Japan.
This symposium will cover experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches toward understanding principles of development. Recent advances in imaging and other technologies have provided a huge amount of quantitative data sets of cellular processes in complex developmental events. The program will feature presentations covering a broad range of topics, including quantitative approaches for understanding fundamental processes of morphogenesis and differentiation, and theoretical, computational and modeling approaches for development.
A few travel fellowships will be available for younger researchers traveling from abroad. Application deadline is January 13, 2012.
Deadline for registering for the symposium is January 13, 2012.
