-Event- Exciting Biology Series- Cellular Development: Biology at the interface Data: 9/29/2011-10/1/2011 Location: Japan |

The Exciting Biologies meeting on "Cellular Development: Biology at the interface" will be held at the RIKEN CDB in Kobe, Japan from September 29 to October 1, 2011.
This meeting is the fifth in the series, and is unique in that its theme and organization are designed to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of Developmental Cell. The topics that will be covered at the meeting are designed to highlight different aspects of the interface between cell biology and developmental biology, ranging from cellular mechanisms that are important for developmental pathways, through regulatory processes underlying patterning to understanding how all such events are controlled at a genomic level.
This meeting is co-organized by Developmental Cell, Fondation Ipsen, and the RIKEN CDB, with support from the Days of Molecular Medicine Global Foundation.
Deadline for abstract submission is July 1, 2011. Early-bird registration deadline is August 1, 2011. There are a limited number or travel fellowships available for young researchers and students to attend this meeting. Please check the meeting website for more details. Deadline for CDB Travel Fellowship applications is July 1, 2011.

-Event- 5th International Epithelial-Mensenchymal Transition Meeting Data: 10/10/2011-10/13/2011 Location: Singapore |

The 5th International Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition Meeting of the Epithlial-Mesenchymal Transition Association (TEMTIA) will be held October 10-13, 2011 at Biopolis in Singapore. This meeting is hosted by Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology.
The EMT Conference is the major international forum for researchers studying the process of cell separation and invasion known as epithelial-mesenchymal cell transition or EMT, which takes place in development, wound healing, and in pathologies such as metastasis and fibrosis.
Topics presented at EMT meetings include: a variety of developmental systems and models where EMT takes place, transcriptional and translational regulators of EMT, signal transduction by the several known growth factors that produce EMT, as well as cytoskeletal and extracellular matrix components of the EMT process.
